Angličtina v karanténě: Are You Eggcited? Happy Easter!

Tento příspěvek se v dnešních dnech nabízí úplně sám. Ale vznikl také na přání. Trochu na poslední chvíli, vím, vím. Ale jestli už máte české přípravy za sebou, můžete se s námi pustit do anglických!

Let’s Play and Dye in English – both naturally!

Už jste barvili vajíčka? My jsme to letos ještě nestihli, chystáme se dnes odpoledne a určitě budou jen přírodní. Vloni jsme zkoušeli červené zelí, kurkumu a klasiku – cibulové slupky. A všechny vyšly opravdu krásně. Recepty mám z oblíbeného osvědčeného blogu Cuketka.cz, ale najdete jich spoustu i v anglické podobě. A protože vím, že Cuketkův recept funguje, přeložila jsem ho pro vaše anglické hrátky do angličtiny.

BLUE EGGS

You will need:
500 ml water
600 g chopped red cabbage
2 tbsp white vinegar

First we need to wash the eggs with a bit of washing liquid. Let’s boil the eggs for 10 minutes. In the meantime, we can chop the cabbage. I will help you with this part – the knife is too sharp.

The eggs are cooked, we need to cool them in cold water. And then we will dry them completely.

Let’s boil the cabbage now. Take all this chopped cabbage and place it here in the pot filled with water. Great. We will let this cabbage boil for about 15-30 minutes. Finished! I will drain the cabbage. The dye needs to cool down completely. Let’s pour it into a glass and add vinegar.

And now it’s time for the eggs – let’s carefully put them inside the cabbage dye. Try it with a spoon. Wonderful. Now we need to let them rest in the fridge. We will leave them there overnight. Tomorrow you will see how gorgeous they will be!

Don’t forget to polish the eggs with a bit of oil 🙂

YELLOW EGGS

You will need:
500 ml water
2 tbsp turmeric
2 spoons white vinegar

You can follow the same recipy as with the cabbage or you can dye the eggs by adding them to boiling water mixed with a bit of turmeric. First add turmeric to water and let boil for 20-30 minutes. Drain the coloured water, pour it back to the pot and add eggs. Boil for 10 minutes. Cool down the eggs immediately. Let them dry and don’t forget to polish them!

Hot Cross Buns: PEČEME

Jestli už jste měli doma napečené jidáše, vyzkoušejte ještě Hot Cross Buns. Tradiční velikonoční bochánky, které se pečou právě na Velký Pátek (Good Friday). Kříž symbolizuje kříž Ježíše. Receptů na netu najdete nespočet. Já jsem pro vás vybrala recept sympatické britské babičky Mary Berry.

Já sama jsem je pekla podle receptu na jidáše od Markéty Pavleje z Kitchenette, protože už jsem ho měla odzkoušený a nechtěla jsem riskovat nový recept. Křížek jsem dělala až po upečení z klasické cukrovo-citronové polevy.

Ale jestli vyzkoušíte recept Mary Berry, dejte mi vědět, jak se povedl! Možná se do něj ještě sama nakonec pustím 🙂

Hot Cross Buns: TLESKÁME

No a samozřejmě nesmí chybět ani tematická říkanka. Ze které se dá taky udělat zábavná tleskačka, kterou zvládnou i ty nejmenší. Námi je stoprocentně odzkoušená a aktuálně frčí hlavně u dvouleté Žofky. Tahle tleskačka samozřejmě nechybí ani v našich Hand Clapping Games. S pečením získala úplně nový rozměr, holky ji teď omílají pořád dokola, kdykoli se podívají na mísu plnou bochánků. Jako velikonoční dárek jsme pro vás uvolnily jedno z našich tleskačkových videí. I wanted to come out of my shell and shout: Happy Easter!

Tvoříte? Pošlete mi, co u vás letos zdobí velikonoční stůl. U našich holek měly letos největší úspěch tyhle chicken pegs – nápad nám přišel e-mailem ze školy. Je hodně jednoduchý, i když trochu pomoc rodiče vyžaduje.

You will need:
– a clothes peg
– coloured paper (ideally with glitters)
– yellow paper for chicken
– doublesided adhesive tape or good glue

Take a yellow paper and draw a small chicken head, not too close to the edge. I will add a small base to it. Now cut it out. Draw a beak and two eyes. Draw an egg on the backside of the glitter paper – and add a zigzag line crossing the middle of the egg. We will cut the eggshape out first and then cut alongside the zigzag line. This way you will get the shape of a cracked egg – two shells. Let’s stick the eggshell to the sides of the peg. One shell on the top and the other one on the bottom. And the funniest part comes now – stick the chicken head to the backside of the peg. Open the peg.
